I am loving this new heat gun! I don't have a ton of experience with 'power tools' and this is SO easy to use. It heats up with a zero wait time, has a nice shape for the hand-held aspect and I love how easy it is to use with the interchangeable battery. I first used this for the project seen above - hand-lettered wood ornaments with the a scorch pyrography marker (and a cute wood door hanging sign). Super super easy, and I love how they turned out. Excited to use it for embossing & other crafts!

As I've mentioned in other reviews, I have the entire Makerx set of tools and accessories. I have found the Mini Heat Gun to be useful for a number of tasks, and not quite up to the task in one instance, which I'll detail below. I love how light and easy to handle this tools is. I've mostly used it to salvage display screens from laptops. The bezel that helps hold them in has a good amount of adhesive that makes it difficult to remove them without cracking. The application of heat around the perimeter of the bezel softens the adhesive and allows them to be removed without damage. I've done this to at least 150 laptops with excellent results. Now, this tool gets hot, hot enough to start melting plastic if you hold it in one spot too long. However, unlike full-sized heat guns, it is light in weight and easy to keep moving. I love that the plastic guard that surrounds the metal head remains cool enough to touch (and won't instantly melt your project if it happens to touch it briefly). I've also used it to help evaporate water spilled into a laptop, it helps it dry quickly. Battery life it good, but not spectacular, as is to be expected with a heat-generating device. I can probably to at least 10 laptop screen removals before swapping out the 2A battery. This is by no means a serious limitation. Now, what won't this do? I use those little self-soldering butt connectors for simultaneously soldering and heat-shrinking two wires together. This is perfect for the heat-shrink (and heat-shrink in general); however, it does not quite get hot enough to melt the solder like a full-size heat gun does. If Worx could add a "turbo" button for a brief shot of extra heat, I think it would be perfect for the job. I was a little disappointed, but not every tool is appropriate for every job. In summation, this is a useful addition to your collection of Makerx tools, and can handle many tasks. I think it represents good value for money, and I would recommend it.
