Light, powerful, and holds a charge!
I’m a fan of Worx, having many of their products at our home. All have been affordable and long lasting, and too, have performed their duty admirably. So when I had an opportunity to get my hands on the Worx 8v Cordless Rotary Tool, I was more than happy to add it to my collection. And without surprise, this thing is a very good tool.
The Rotary Tool comes in a hard plastic container, with every accessory having its place, keeping everything well organized. I really love the case, as it means I don’t have to worry about keeping track of all the small attachments that can be so easily misplaced. It comes with a variety of sandpaper grits, disks, an engraving head, a drill bit, a high speed engraving head, a ball shaped griding needle, a high speed engraving head, a wire flat brush, polish, charging cord, and a chuck for changing heads. With this kit, you are well on your way toward tackling any fine work project.
Functionally it is simple to use. Mine came precharged so it was ready to use right out of the box. There is a lock you depress to change accessories (it locks the head in place so you can put torque on it to remove the chosen tool, instead if it spinning ceaselessly), a + and – button to choose which of the 5 gears you want to operate in, and the power button itself. It is very intuitive to use, even if this is your first rotary tool.
The Worx is relatively light and easy to hold…both myself, my son, and my husband find it comfortable in the hand, so it really can be used by most people. The charging cord fits into a rubber sealed tab at the base of the tool, but otherwise the tool is quite sealed. I will say that the charging cord is short, but it is a standard usb-c to usb, and we have plenty of those of varying lengths already, so this isn’t a complaint.
My favorite feature is that the head of the tool lights up when being used, so you don’t have to worry if you are working in a dim environment like inside a cabinet. We wanted this rotary tool because my son likes to make wooden weapons, and the Worx is perfect for adding scroll work and detail to really liven up his work.
We are very happy with the Worx Rotary Tool, and again, because this isn’t our first Worx product, we anticipate this lasting a very long time (along with our Worx workbench, electric edger, and belt sander, just to name a few of their fine tools in our garage right now). Its battery lasts forever, and it gives us plenty of power without feeling heavy or ungainly. We definitely recommend.

Great Tool
I was very much impressed by the quality of this rotary tool. This has a little bit of everything you need for a rotary tool to do a huge variety of projects. Highly recommended, and the included case is a nice plus.
